Tyrers Department Store St Helens, Merseyside 2005 ![]() Christmas certainly is looming and in preperation for its inevitable arrival, Tyrers Department store were having a special shopping evening for invited guests only; who else could add the necessary class to the event? Café Society of course! We arrived at about 17:30 after a journey of nightmareish preportions, bad traffic and the interminable one way system of St Helens made it a triffle trying, but hey, that's showbiz! ![]() Our dressing rooms were conveniently near the exit and also doubled up as the loading bay -- we certainly do see life! We were situated in-between leisure wear and ladies lingerie. George was quite fascinated and was on several occasions caught asking if they did larger sizes! ![]() On this occasion we were once again joined by Andy Henderson and as always a splendid time was had. Andy had got the gig through knowing the Tyrer family personally as he had played for a Wedding with his other band, thank you Andy!! ![]() The store manage, Mike Duff looked after us well and saw we had refreshments and nibbles, very generous indeed. The show came to an end and we finished up with 'Margie', foot tapping proliferated and many cheers were derived, though we did receive one or two groans when we played 'Jingle Bells'! Many thanks to everyone at Tyrers for making us so welcome. |
